The SC-205 adds a natural woven texture to rooms that are otherwise mostly upholstery. A curved hardwood back frame holds natural cane webbing, the legs are tapered and braced, and the seat is a drop-in upholstered pad that unscrews from below.
Construction. Solid hardwood frame with glued and dowelled joints and stretchers for rigidity; cane webbing set into a routed groove with a spline. Overall height about 31.5 in (80 cm), seat height 18 in (46 cm), seat width about 19-20.5 in (48-52 cm).
Specifying it. The removable seat is the operational point: a restaurant can re-cover seats on site when the fabric wears, using a small quantity of COM per chair (usually well under 1 yd of plain 54 in fabric for a seat pad). Cane is a natural material: specify a protective finish and keep chairs away from direct heat sources. Frame finishes are stain codes from your schedule.
Where it works. Bistros, cafes and all-day restaurants, opposite banquettes in lighter interiors, and hotel breakfast rooms.
