Long walls expose every joint. The SB-149 is engineered so a 142 in (360 cm) run - three 47 in (120 cm) sections in standard form - reads as one piece of furniture rather than three parts pushed together.
How it is resolved. Section joints are placed on the vertical upholstery seams, which are spaced equally along the run so the joint becomes part of the pattern. Seat cushion front edges are aligned to a straight line on site with concealed connectors and alignment pins. The top trim is fabricated in the longest length the access route allows and joined with a concealed splice; the base veneer or laminate is sequence-matched across sections.
Specifying it. Give the finished wall length, wall flatness tolerance and the access route. If the trim must be one piece, the delivery path has to accept it - we will flag the maximum length on the drawing. Railroaded COM is strongly recommended so seat and back cushions can run full section length without vertical seams.
Where it works. Banquet halls, long restaurant walls, hotel breakfast rooms and any run over about 10 ft (3 m) where joints would otherwise dominate.
