Square corners are uncomfortable to sit in and leave knees clashing at the turn. The SB-154 keeps a true 90-degree outer corner tight to the walls while the inner face turns on a radius of about 24 in (60 cm), with a fan-shaped corner cushion so the corner is a usable seat.
How it is resolved. The corner is built as one unit with two straight legs of 47 in (120 cm) in the reference design. The outer frame is square and shimmed to the walls; the inner back is framed on the radius. The metal top trim transitions from straight to curved on each side without a visible joint.
Specifying it. Survey the actual corner angle - few are exactly 90 degrees - and we will draw the outer frame to it. A round table in the corner usually works better than a square one with a radius banquette; check the table base so it does not clash with feet.
Where it works. Room corners in restaurants and cafes, corner booths in bars and lounges, and irregular plans where a standard corner block would leave gaps.
